But I also concur with Anything But 7
ladiesandgentlemen

I voted "Other".

30 would be a good number for him in more ways than one.

I voted "other" I think 51 would look good, just flipping the 1 and 5 obviously.

save for the fact that would mean he hasn't "made the team" yet.

the Ducks use the Old School, Low numbers for the Team, high numbers for the Prospects/rookies.

I voted Other, how bout '4'... for Quadruple Lupul.

4 and 7 are both off my list forever for different reasons. But it was a nice thought. I would rather see the 4 up on the jumbotron than on Lupul's back though. wink.gif
Davison
lupuls number should be # 17

#16 makes sense but he'll have to ask Parros to give it up. 4x4=16

I came up with 15 x 2nd time around = 30. What is another reason? (don't laugh, it took me until last evening to figure out the one reason I did come up with!) smile.gif

I was hoping it would give him a goal to shoot for.

Put one of these ticket.gif on there for thirty of them if necessary.

i like 51 too but i thought the same thing so now i say he goes with 5 or 6

Whatever he wants but 2-7 are traditionally defensmen numbers, right?. Other than that the only low numbers available I think are 11 and 14. Can he get #20 if Ryan Carter is in the AHL?
wildwing64
I'm confused. What's with all the hate on number 7?

I'm definitely missing something if this number isn't getting any love.

Carter earned a spot with his performance in the playoffs.

51 to complete the circle (Getz goes from 51 to 15, Lupul does the reverse).
German Rocket #7
I think he should get #11.
Dutch Duck
I voted 6. Stay with the low numbers.

I say #75 because I can't think of a single NHL player that has ever worn that number for more than a year or two. When you see #75 on the ice you know it's Joffrey Lupul!

Players who have worn #75:

Yann Danis, Montreal Canadiens 2005-06
Leroy Goldsworthy, Montreal Canadiens 1934-35
Michal Grosek, Winnipeg Jets 1993-96
Chris Hajt, Washington Capitals 2003-04
Brett Lindros, New York Islanders 1994-96
Colton Orr, Boston Bruins 2005-06
Walt Poddubny, Quebec Nordiques 1988-89
Jack Portland, Montreal Canadiens 1934-35

Michael Grosek played a total of 28 games for the Jets, Brett Lindros played in just 51 NHL games and the rest of those guys only wore #75 for one season. It's perfect! Lupul can claim #75 as his own and establish some history in that number.

Okay, sorry, Troy, gotta call you out here...

This read #83 before, and made reference to the year he was born... but continued with the same

"I can't think of a single NHL player that has ever worn that number for more than a year or two. When you see #** on the ice you know it's Joffrey Lupul!"

I was going to let it go and let someone else point out Ales Hemsky... But...

so did ya change it cause of Hemsky? or because 75 is closer to 15?

I changed it because of Hemsky. Can't have him wearing the same number as some stiff on the Oilers, can we?

It was originally #75, then I changed it to #83 to make it the year he was born, then remembered Hemsky and changed it back.

That's just as good. #93 would be nice as a tribute to the year the Ducks came into the NHL.

How about 79? Has that ever been worn before in the NHL besides Andrei Markov?

Alexei Yashin

I think Lupul gets #11 or #14. Maybe #11 for Koivu?
