Brodeur is letting Denis take over for him tonight. Whatsamatta Marty? Still chafing over that 2003 Conn Smythe? (Just kidding of course). Marty doesn't like playing on Groundhog Day.
Duckette
Let's go Toronto Maple Giguere's!!!!!!!!!!!!

3-0, wouldn't it be something if JSG would get a shutout after Hiller did last night laugh.gif ?

Jig get's a little help from his teammate!

Watching the Leafs game as well. Holy crap, are they a different team. Giguere solid while not having to be anything else. I've obviously never been much of a Phaneuf fan, but damn, he looks absolutely great for them. So does Sjostrom. Great job by Burkie.

Watching Phaneuf play makes me want to sick.gif at Whitney... Could we ever use a defenseman like him.

No kidding. A few days ago I would have made the sick.gif face at the thought of Phaneuf in a Ducks jersey, but now... laugh.gif Seems like a good move for his career after all. He wasn't great for the Flames in quite a while, Burke pulls him out of his comfort zone and gives him a lot of responsibility in a new situation. Just seems like a very good fit. Like with Giguere, on different levels.

If you're watching the Toronto feed, listen to the broadcasting. That's how it's done. Play by play with occasional insight from the color guy. They don't miss a beat even when they're talking about prospects or other facets of the game. It's fun and exciting to listen to, adding so much to the game.
Aldogg
Watching Bruins/Caps here. Laich just got one past Thomas to make it 2-1 Caps in the 3rd. Plus some rough stuff, Boychuck and Ovie trading shots, surprised a fight did not break out.
Dark Knight
JS solid on some close plays.

They're not bad, but I prefer the CBC guys, for example. Regarding the Ducks, I don't care much about Ahlers, but I really enjoy Hayward. Replace Ahlers, keep Hayward, would be a compromise. smile.gif

JS takes one off the mask...
RGS_Quack93
Holy SH*& monkeys he just pitched a shut out! hahahaha

Congrats Jiggy! That's the kind of game that makes you feel good, even if he's not on our team any more. So happy for him. smile.gif

Same here. Too bad he's such a crappy goalie rolleyes.gif

Wow, wow, wow! Congrats Jig!

I can't believe they wouldn't blow the whistle for him. He looked slightly amused, and yet somewhat miffed there.
Arse McKnob

On another note, Jiggy matches Hiller with a SO in his first game after the trade.
nabby+toskftw
Nice to see both goalies get shutouts! Leafs actually played a really solid defensive game in front of Giggy, which is kind of a shock!

Can they sustain it is the question.
animal71bj
Jiggy! that was cool to see him get off to a great start as a leaf, just tough to see him as a non-duck.

by the way, fun fact around the big trades:
Ducks win, 3-0.
Leafs win, 3-0.
Flames lose, 0-3.

Well Jiggys first game with toronto resulted in them winning 3-0 and he had 30 saves

Congrats Jiggy!

Stoked for Jig. How long before they contend?

Although I must say, the Leafs looked great in front of him. He didn't have much to do. Phaneuf grabbed the puck for him at the end of the game.

True, his defense made this a shutout one of the easier kind. 30 saves in the stats seem to be stretching it a little, but he's not gonna complain... laugh.gif

I agree that this game should not be overrated, though, as to where the Leafs stand. They had to show some life after the drastic changes, and that they did. The Devils were futile, on the other hand and a welcome opponent tonight. But if they can build on this, I like their chances to at least make that Kessel trade look a lot less bad by making their picks a lot less valuable... tongue.gif
