Mark Fistric, who had arthroscopic knee surgery three weeks ago, missed practice Sunday to rest the knee. He is expected to return Monday and would like to be available for Tuesday’s game against the Los Angeles Kings. - Fort Worth Star Telegram
Dan Cleary took a Derek Meech slap shot off his right foot early in practice Sunday and left the ice. As a precaution, Cleary was going to get the foot X-rayed before the team left for Denver. Nick Lidstrom, Niklas Kronwall and Johan Franzen returned to practice. Pavel Datsyuk and Henrik Zetterberg opted to meet the team in Denver. - Detroit Free Press
Centre Stephen Weiss is 'definitely much better' than before the break, but will have to deal with his lower-body injury for the rest of this season, coach Peter DeBoer said, adding: "It's something we'll have to look at this summer to see whether it needs surgery."
